// reserved_boxes

Want a flat price? Reserve a box

Metered is the default and fits most personal software. A workload that wants a predictable flat price can opt into a reserved box instead. Both draw the same wallet, and databases are always reserved.

Reserved box vCPU Memory Price
Spark 1 0.25 vCPU (shared) 0.5 GiB $5 / mo
Spark 2 0.5 vCPU (shared) 1 GiB $10 / mo
Spark 3 1 vCPU (shared) 2 GiB $19 / mo
Core 2 2 vCPU 4 GiB $58 / mo
Core 4 4 vCPU 8 GiB $116 / mo
Core 8 8 vCPU 16 GiB $232 / mo
Core 2-Mem 2 vCPU 8 GiB $76 / mo
Core 4-Mem 4 vCPU 16 GiB $152 / mo

// Spark shares CPU for small, bursty workloads. Core reserves a full vCPU for steady ones. A reserved box bills its flat rate for as long as it exists, busy or idle.

// estimate_your_bill

See what you would pay each month.

Set your workload on Ownkube Compute and watch the estimate update. Your plan loads wallet credit each month and per-minute usage draws it down, so a mostly idle personal app costs very little. You top up only when your usage passes the credit your plan loads.

// us-east-1, flat pricing. Metered per minute (~$0.00041 / vCPU / min, ~$0.0001 / GiB / min). Estimate, not a quote. Rates run about a third under the equivalent Railway bill.

// estimated_monthly

// same workload elsewhere

Illustrative. Competitor list prices approximate, as of August 2026. Railway meters usage the way Ownkube does; Render and Heroku bill a flat instance tier sized to your CPU and memory, so they charge the same whether your app is busy or idle.

How billing works on Ownkube

Ownkube runs on a prepaid wallet. Your plan loads credit each month, Personal loads $5 and Team loads $20, and per-minute usage draws it down. CPU is metered on actual usage up to the limit you set, so a mostly idle app barely registers on the CPU line. Memory is metered on the working set your workload holds for as long as it runs, which is why databases and always-on services cost more than a bursty web app. Metered rates are about $0.00041 per vCPU-minute and $0.0001 per GiB-minute of working set. A workload that wants a fixed monthly price can opt into a reserved Spark or Core box instead, which bills its flat rate whether it is busy or idle. Both draw the same wallet. Run past your loaded credit and you top up any amount from a $5 minimum. If the balance reaches zero, apps pause and your data is kept until you top up or the next month loads. Bandwidth includes 100 GB of egress per account, then bills at about $0.09 per GB.

Build minutes

Each deployment that builds from source runs in Ownkube's build capacity. A build minute is one wall-clock minute of a build, counted the same for any builder size, capped at 30 minutes per build. Personal includes 300 build minutes a month and Team includes 1,500. Included minutes are free, and past the allowance build minutes draw the wallet at a small overage rate. Allowances reset monthly and do not roll over.

Running in your own cloud

If you would rather keep workloads in your own AWS account, you can run the same app there with the same workflow and dashboard. Starter is free forever on one AWS instance, and you pay AWS directly for that instance. Production is $5 per vCPU plus $1 per GiB of RAM a month, metered on requested resources, and adds multi-AZ high availability. Enterprise is scoped with our team. AWS is supported today, with more clouds on the way.

Frequently asked pricing questions

Is there a free tier?
Ownkube-hosted compute has no free tier. The smallest plan is Personal at $5 a month, which loads $5 of wallet credit. If you run in your own AWS account, the Starter shape is free forever on one instance.
What does an idle app cost?
Very little on a metered deployment. CPU bills only while it runs, so an idle app barely registers on the CPU line. You still pay for the memory it keeps live, which draws your monthly wallet credit. A reserved box bills its flat rate whether busy or idle.
How does per-minute billing compare to Railway?
Both meter per minute. Ownkube's rates work out to roughly a third under the equivalent Railway bill for the same vCPU and memory, and a mostly idle app costs very little on either.
Can I cap my monthly spend?
Yes. Set a monthly budget and choose to be notified at the cap or to have your apps pause, scale to zero with data retained, when month-to-date spend reaches it. Spending alerts email the account owner at 50%, 80%, and 100% of the budget, so a bill can't run away.
Can I move between hosted and my own cloud later?
Yes. The application code, push-to-deploy workflow, and dashboard are the same, so moving is a configuration change, not a rewrite.
