Free to start. Pay as you scale.

Starter clusters stay free. Pay only for the Production resources you request. Cloud costs go straight to your AWS account, so AWS Activate and GCP for Startups credits burn down before they expire.

Burn your cloud credits efficiently

Every EC2 instance, S3 bucket, and byte of bandwidth Ownkube provisions is billed straight to your AWS account, so AWS Activate credits burn down at 1:1 instead of expiring unused. GCP for Startups support is on the way.

Why two tiers

Ownkube is intentionally a two-tier product. Starter is the default for indie developers, side projects, and small teams who want a manageable dev environment without managed-PaaS pricing. Production is for scaling startups that need to be highly available across availability zones, with managed Postgres and full AWS observability. Application code and developer workflow are identical across both tiers, so migrating from Starter to Production is a configuration change, not a replatform.

What you actually pay

On Starter, you pay AWS for raw EC2 at wholesale rates. Ownkube charges nothing on top. On Production, you pay AWS for your EC2 nodes, EKS control plane, and managed services directly, plus a flat $5 per vCPU and $1 per GB RAM per month to Ownkube for the platform layer. There are no hidden seat fees, deploy fees, or bandwidth markups.

Burn AWS Activate credits efficiently

AWS Activate credits expire in 12 to 24 months. Most startups burn through 20% to 30% before the rest evaporates. Because Ownkube workloads run in your own AWS account, every credit dollar lands as real EC2, S3, and bandwidth. On Starter, you pay AWS only and credits cover the entire bill. On Production, AWS resources are billed against your credits directly, with the small Ownkube platform fee charged separately. GCP for Startups credits work the same way once GCP support ships.

Frequently asked pricing questions

Do you charge for cloud infrastructure?
No. AWS charges you directly for EC2, networking, storage, and the EKS control plane. Ownkube only charges the platform fee on Production.
Is there a deployment or seat limit on the free tier?
No. The free Starter tier supports unlimited apps and unlimited team members. You only pay AWS for the underlying EC2.
When should I upgrade from Starter to Production?
When you have production traffic, need high availability across availability zones, managed Postgres, or a deeper observability story. Application code and workflow stay the same.
Can I cancel and keep my infrastructure?
Yes. Ownkube uses vanilla cloud resources powered by upstream Kubernetes. Disconnect anytime; your apps keep running in your AWS account.
